Etsy Shop Feature GratefulHeartMS

Hey Everyone!

Today I have some beautiful Wire Art & Gemstone Jewelry & Gifts to share with you. I have an interview with the designer & owner Abby and her shop is called GratefulHeartMS

GratefulHeartMS.etsy.com

What got you into design?
I've always had an artistic bent and I enjoy exploring different media like drawing, painting, and fibre arts. I like creating items that are both beautiful and have a function - like decorations and jewelry.

Where do you hope to see yourself in 5 years in regards to your Etsy?
I would like my shop to grow and develop and I learn more and refine my skills. I would love to collaborate with my Mom to add more products to the shop in the future. I would like Etsy to become a viable source of income so I can meet my personal goals.

Was it difficult to start your etsy shop or did you just find your way?
Etsy has been a learning process, like anything. I've gone through the process of trial and error. The journey has been valuable for me because I'm learning about persistence and communication. I love meeting other artists through Etsy and their social media. I'm a better person because of it.

Do you have any advice for those who want to sell on etsy and are only just starting out?
I think Etsy is about finding a niche. It's also about supporting others through sharing. It's not a journey you can go alone. Keep a positive attitude and be open.

Wire Moon Jewellery

 Hello everyone!
I have an amazing interview with a wonderful jewelry designer.

Introduce yourself, what's your name and how did you choose your shop name?
tell me about your shop

Hello! I am Michelle Lee Shearer, wire artist and owner of Wire Moon Jewelry. I create wire wrapped jewelry and sculptures, like dream catchers and trees. The name Wire Moon Jewelry came from putting together my art media, wire, and my love for the moon and nature.
My online Etsy shop is run by me, and everything for sale is carefully handmade out of wire and natural stones. It is important to me to use only the genuine stones and crystals in my artwork, because it is the reason I make jewelry, to show off these beauties!

In what general area of design do you enjoy?

I enjoy finding creative ways to frame the stones I use and to create new designs. There are hundreds of other amazing wire artists out there, and I take it as a fun challenge to create something people have never seen before out of wire! How many full sized dream catchers are out there that are 100% made with wire? It is a blast to find interesting ways to stay unique.

how did you start designing did you go to school?

I started my store when I was in high school and, since then, have never gone to any design school. I'm proud to say that I've grown up in a very creative household, so most of my design skills are all thanks to my amazing mother and crazy family.

Where do you see your online shop in five years?

In five years, I hope to see my shop be my day job. Nothing would make me happier than living and breathing art every day, and to make a living by making people feel beautiful and happy through my artwork. It's a big goal to tackle in only five years, but every moment my free time I throw into this small business! Fingers crossed!

Do you have any advice for those who want to sell on Etsy and are only just starting out?

My word of advice for anyone thinking about selling on Etsy is to research and plan, then just do it! Etsy has amazing tools for sellers to learn how to sell their goods in the best ways, and there are books floating everywhere! For those struggling to sell on Etsy, I would tell them to never stop growing. It is important to change and move  with the ever-changing flow of the online marketplace. And to always have the passion for your art!

etsy fature of the week GardensOfTheSun

https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/GardensOfTheSun

hey everyone welcome to etsy feature of the week and todays feature is gardens of the sun owned by Meri, a unique jewellery shop that specialises with raw diamonds, jems and pearls.

"I am Dutch, married to a very handsome German and living in Indonesia. We have a one year old daughter. I am working on sustainability issues in the tropical forestry sector, and try to make the world a slightly better place. I love making things myself and I love food. I make my own cheese and yoghurt as it's hard to find here!

The name of the shop, Gardens of the Sun, comes from an old journal about Borneo island written by an explorer from the 19th century. I love exploring and discovering, and Kalimantan, the Indonesian part of Borneo, is a world of inspiration for me. I have spent quite some time there for my studies and work.

I absolutely love to use diamonds, colorful gemstones and pearls. I have decided to focus on raw diamond and rough gemstone jewelry for the future, as I adore their imperfections. These are also the most popular items in my shop. I spend hours going through lots of gemstones and diamonds picking out the most beautiful rocks and selecting approximate pairs. I'm obsessed with finding special stones, such as color shifting gemstones, and clear rocks with inclusions. It's a completely intrinsic motivation to find beauty in what is already there and create something even more beautiful.

I started making jewelry when I was in university, studying tropical forestry. I was in Indonesia for fieldwork, and while traveling I purchased these amazing gemstones in South Kalimantan, and freshwater pearls on the island of Lombok. I just made jewelry for myself and for friends and family. Years later, I discovered Etsy. When my daughter was a year old I was in need of a creative outlet, and the shop was born.

Working with my hands gives me a break from the stress at work, as I become completely absorbed with what I am doing at the very moment. I often don't hear people talking to me because I am so concentrated!

For me, sustainability is a primary concern. It's not only my daytime job, it is a mindset. I therefore try to purchase diamonds primarily from sources that can assure me that the diamonds are mined in accordance with the Kimberly process and are not subsidizing violent conflict. Actually I am looking into buying diamonds mined in Indonesia, as it will be easier for me to track the mine and assess the mining conditions. I try to use scraps for my shagreen stingray leather jewelry. And I try to use packaging from recycled, reused and natural material, or boxes that can be used again. I love my dyed banana leafs for wrapping gifts, so colorful and special! Another example are my little rattan jewelry boxes. "

etsy shop feature of the week dalystudios

Hey everyone today’s feature is on a handmade jewelry shop called dalystudios created by Christine Daly. The reason I love this shop so much is because of the natural, environmental and unique look of all the jewelry pieces. Christine creates her jewelry pieces from a combination of stones, beads, leather, shells, bone and wire. This unique arrangement of materials gives the pieces an exceptionally remarkable designs.

“I have been making things, drawing things, growing things and designing things all my life. When I see something beautiful, I simply erupt with the need to describe it in some way. It's not a conscious decision. It just happens. Painting and drawing have always been my primary modes of expression (and livelihood) but recently I began making jewelry.” Quote Christine Daly
